Valid points, and the answer to your question is that I don't know

I'm not saying it's wrong that we're opening borders up now, I'm just saying I feel a bit uncomfortable that it's wrong, and nervous about the repercussions of that.

If the scientific data supports (and it does seem to be the expert view) that even if there are variants, the vaccine should give good protection against serious illness then that is comforting.

Thinking again, I'd say the right time to open borders is when other countries are also at similar vaccination levels.

Good job we can rely on brits abroad to be sensible though...
