When would you open them instead?

Given the numbers who've been vaccinated in the UK and the protection afforded by even one shot, I'd have thought it's very hard to justify maintaining restrictions. Even now it's quite hard - and France, Germany, Netherlands etc are taking a far more relaxed approach (though one in which their circumstances risks problems). We're in danger of wishing upon ourselves long term restrictions of some pretty basic freedoms.
