I read that piece on the Pinkun this morning and felt quite optimistic for the future. I now believe the next 4 games are massive for the future of this club, and the outcome of them will finally make my mind if whether Worthington can actually turn it around.
I know we've got nothing to play for this season as a club, but the players do. If Worthington was being honest in his press conference, he was basically saying if the players don't shape up he'll get rid. The next 4 games give some of them opportunity. Of course, he might equally mean if he's too forgiving give them part of next season which would be a mistake in my opinion.
Additionally, the next 4 games will give us some idea of the talent of our youngsters. The likes of Ryan Jarvis will finally be given a chance to cement a first team place if he can perform.
Also he gave the impression that a number of new playres will be coming in - and we don't have to automatically assume they will be useless. Last summer we had little money to spend (granted ?1 million was wasted on Hughes and Etuhu) but this summer we'll have: Ashton money/Francis money/Green money - so hopefully we can get 3 or 4 quality signings in rather than cheap journeymen.
