I think we need to be aware of the physical demands of playing in India... and

it may be that Bess has suffered a bit. Not sure if he has played in India before. I suspect the sports scientist may have evidence that he needs recovery time. Two five day tests in short order in extreme heat... if he has not shown sufficient recovery they couldnt possibly risk him bearing in mind he might spend the first two days in the field.
