Prepare for what?

Yes they’re in a better position to separate covid patients now and treat them better but if the strategy is to let it rip and put hospitals under way more strain than March and April then no amount of preparation is going to put staff in 2 places at once. And ICU beds will have to be added to other areas of the hospital again taking their space. Building more hospitals and having new fully trained staff in them would be a solution but that isn’t happening

And the harm you talk about is compared to the 50000 deaths with the virus being suppressed so you can only imagine what it will be like if we let it rip. And letting a few hundred thousand die with many more having long term illness won’t stop all the harm you describe caused by restrictions

The current game should be living with it with proper testing procedures which we actually have had time to prepare so we can live fairly normally like some other countries and better treatments then a vaccine.

Given the highly promising medical work being done it would be mad to just say f**k it.
