I'd expect them to change things based on what 'appears' to be working elsewhere. Plus financially we can't afford a rinse & repeat even if we wanted to.
But no-one will really know what options 'actually' worked and which of the different approaches taken 'were' the most cost-effective (in lives and treasure) until we have reached a point where we can say it is 'over' and countries have recovered from it.
Although in reality no-one will ever know and it's impossible to know which Govts actually got it right (if any). An approach which works for the German populace and psyche wouldn't work in exactly the same way for the UK etc.
