I don't agree that it's far too early to draw conclusions

if a completely separate virus appeared next month, do you think the govt would handle it in the same way as this one?

Would they spend weeks doing nothing; fail to reinforce the most vulnerable areas; and then shut down the economy for weeks once much of the damage had already been done? Basically ensuring that you get the combination of huge disruption and high number of deaths.

Or would they look at countries like Germany and see how important it was to ramp up testing very early and contact trace from the very beginning?
