Computer advice please

Hello all, I'm rubbish at computers so hoping to pick wiser people's brains please...
I want to do some illustrations on my compooter and everything looks dreadful using the mouse. So my question is please, what would I need (ideally free software/apps) to do to be able to hand draw and get my pictures to appear on screen? I don't want to draw on paper first and scan but have it go straight from pen to screen. Some sort of computer stylus and art software I'm guessing? I have a laptop with windows 10 if that helps?
