Sorry to sound like an Old Git, OG but.....

I kind of don't get this continued love-in for Madders. Don't get me wrong, I wish nothing but the best and he seems to be a great lad BUT he doen't play for us anymore and I kind of don't really care too much about him (or indeed any other player that leaves) once they've gone. I know there's a monetary value for my club according to England Caps and transfers but the fuss made on Social Media by Norwich fans if he doesn't get selected for England leaves me befuddled! Perhaps its my age. Maybe I am an OG. if so the apologies and I'll seek therapy but out of interest, am I alone in thinking this way?
