....due to his huge foreign policy error to go along with Bush in the Middle East. However to my recollection (and we always remember with rose tinted specs) his home policies were reasonably ok and he won 3 elections and had mot Gordon Brown been desperate to become PM he may well have won a 4th.
Other than the austerity policies (a big if I accept) the coalition government of 2010-2015 generally worked. Now all we have is polarisation. A big chunk of the electorate won't go near Corbyn as far too left wing. Similarly - especially after yesterday's appalling histrionics - many wont touch Boris. That leaves a middle ground to the Lib Dem's who may have shot themselves by committing to reversing Brexit unilaterally rather than a further referendum which I think most people could live with. God knows who would win a General Election but I suspect it would be nobody. My guess is that the Tories would have most seats but could not form a Govt whereby a coalition of Labour / Lib Dem and Nationalists (all of whom would have significant representation) possibly could find sufficient common ground. A further and final referendum would be held. However the price for agreeing that would be an essentially centralist coalition with someone like Tom Watson, Emily Thornberry, Hilary Benn or Yvette Cooper as PM. Depending on seats won maybe even Jo Swinson, but certainly not Jeremy Corbyn. This almost certainly won't happen so no idea where we will actually end up. Yesterday was an absolute disgrace to Parliament.
