He's set on building possession from the back but selecting midfielders who don't facilitate that approach. The first Kosovo goal is a case in point. Barkley plays a poor pass back to Keane, who's probably been conditioned in training sessions to play a pass instead of just clearing the danger. He plays a blind pass and the goal is conceded. But the fault lies with Barkley. I don't think Winks or Madders play such a sloppy pass in the same situation.
Given the wealth of attacking talent he's got, he should think about abandoning the Barca-lite England DNA approach and just go full Klopp. High press, counter-attack, pace and dynamism.
