Hardly "got a load of stick" - I don't think anyone wanted them to go out and do

what they did which was to basically not address obvious weaknesses in the team in the summer and then panic buy Naismith in January resulting in a player on a long, big money, contract which we would not normally have. Not sure anyone advocated giving Martin a new contract when we did or indeed signing Jarvis permanently whilst he was injured.

As ever, its about balance isn't it. If you look at the teams who have gone up and done well they have generally made a couple of bigger money, targeted signings when they first went up (eg Bournemouth with Callum Wilson) and then added bits of extra quality each year after that.

Nobody expects us to spend a hundred million quid or even £40m quid but we do need to find a bit of cash for a couple of signings otherwise its going to be incredibly hard.
