To be fair though, the player shooting doesn’t aim for the goalkeeper yet

If the keeper saves it then it counts as a shot on target (even dare I say it if the shot would have hit the post).

It’s not completely ludicrous to suggest that shots that hit the woodwork should maybe count as on target.
