It has got nothing to do with feeling threatened, but nor does it have anything to do with cutting the wage bill. We'd given him a new two year contract shortly beforehand, in fact just a few games before we never saw him in the side again, if reducing the wage bill was the reason, he'd have gone summer 2017. In the end he wasn't going to get another game for us because someone had finally seen he wasn't good enough and he can dress it up how he likes. Great servant, fantastic memories and all that, but it just went on a little bit too long.
