I didn't say it was long, or that he's old and wise

I just said, which appears to be correct, that for the whole duration of what he's had, there's little to suggest that he'll sort himself out and become the reliable, excellent player we all know he could be.
But don't misunderstand me - first, like you, I know virtually nothing about him personally, and second, as I said, I'd as pleased as the next person if he came good - if only so that we can sell him, and get some dosh.
