Which doesn't suggest that the barrier to British people working in construction is insurmountable, and doesnt support a view that the construction industry is predominantly served by immigrant labour.

You might want to read more about the lump of labour fallacy. It really is the key to understanding why immigration is not automatically bad for residents, and why switching off immigration would not be automatically good.

I am totally in favour of better education and training in this country though - I will vote for that every time.
