Regarding the attitude to Spanish football, I didn’t enjoy their (and Barcelona’s) stifling of the game as they used to, but it wasn’t because they were Spanish. I grew up in Gibraltar, speak the language (imperfectly), have Spanish colleagues and friends and love the country.
