To be ho edt I’ve not written it off, I just think our chances of success are lower

We should have done it from a position of strength and put the structure in place when we were in the premier league rather than (as usual) doing it reactively.

I just think football these days is a short term game. Managers have a limited shelf life. Player power is so strong it’s hard to build teams long term and the best chance of getting back is in those first seasons when you have a financial advantage so rather than deliberately handicap yourself the best policy is to have a “constructive” gamble.
