A story from Chase's time

March 1993: we're at Wimbledon, going for the title. A huge following have travelled from Norwich. If we win, we stay top of the league, and the title stays in our hands.

We play appallingly, go 3-0 down, then the ref gives us a penalty. And David Phillips tells the ref it's not a pen!

In his comments after the game, Joe Kinnear was practically laughing at us. What Phillips did was beautiful. Yet imagine any other side chasing the title ever doing anything similar. It summed us up. Even in the greatest season of our whole history.
