Because we needed that security if we were going to try and keep the ball. And for the most part, until we came up against a superb midfield, it worked.

In the case of any football team anywhere, if it doesn't have a secure defensive platform, it will fail. And it ain't gonna be any sort of consistent, cohesive attacking force without that platform either.
