actually serve their notice period - pay them off and get them out of the building as soon as possible.

And even in this isolated case, I can't see the point. Most of the candidates mentioned on here (except the unobtainable like Keegan or ONiell) are busy trying to get their own teams promoted so will not be available for a couple of months at the very least. I'd sack him & Livermore (don't know about Foley) now and make Williams caretaker until the end of the season.
