i know everyone has had enough about all these 3 or 4 goal defeats, but do people really think that the NCFC is so incompetent that they still think NW is the right man for the job?
Until the day a manager actually leaves a club, a club board nearly always backs him 100% in the public arena. Everybody knows that a 'vote of confidence' from a chairman is equivalent to a 'last warning'. The board said months ago that they had the clubs best interests at heart, and I'm pretty sure they would have decided amongst them at what precise point in the future they might have to say to NW 'sorry, you have to go'. Then a couple of weeks ago, munby gave worthy his backing and this week it was Skippers turn. I expect delia and mike to be next, with doncaster to follow if we lose on saturday.
With all this considered, is it possible that NW might have been given his marching papers already and might be serving some of his notice period whilst we fid a replacement?
When the board backed worthy a few weeks ago, they said the fans needed 'infinite patience', so maybe they were in fact trying to tell us that we had to wait for a bit before worthy would leave, but that they would sack him if he didnt turn things around.
Of course, our protests will show the board that we care and might even precipitate such a decision, but don't have a go and Smith and Jones, they're possibly just trying to steady the ship and make the transition as smooth as possible.
