Actually it would not have an effect on the home grown rule, as long as we relegate

McGovern, not Matthews.

Matthews + McGovern on bench is no different to Krul + Matthews on bench. Still one home grown player and one club developed player in squad. Only becomes an issue if Matthews becomes injured.
