I agree with this very much

Unless we could get a catalytic player, like we did with huckerby, then splashing out doesn't make sense for us.

Hoovering up promising league 1 players like we did with maddison and Godfrey and Thompson is our best bet. With the selling point that we've got a decent reputation of developing careers for these guys.
