per player doesn't guarantee anything (RvW, Naismith etc.). You have to spend a lot more than that to get real quality.
Far better to follow the Trybull/Vrancic/Hernandez/Mclean/Buendia etc. route. It only takes a couple to come off & you're laughing. The odd dud (Franke maybe) really doesn't matter.
