Second rider killed at this year's Isle of Man TT

I know absolutely nothing about motorbike racing. But that event does seem amazingly dangerous (150 or so deaths - or more than one a year, on average, since it started 110 years ago century ago. And about the same number again if you include non-official races and practice sessions around the event itself).

Can't think of another sporting event where anything like the same casualty rate is tolerated? Guess the logic is that people know the risks and choose to do it anyway. But not sure that logic is applied to other sports.

Am sure there are rothers who know more about it, and can tell me why it's accepted for this...
