what you get.
You'll typically buy a certain number of units with each monthly amount. Often you'll buy these units at say 95% (so for each tenner you get £9.50's worth of units) to pay the financial adviser's commission.
On top of these you should be getting
- a reversionary bonus every year. Typically this will be small, a low single figure number of percents.
- a terminal bonus once, at the end. This can be a significant amount of what you get at the end but if you cash in early you won't get one of these.
NEITHER BONUS IS GUARANTEED.
I would check with your company and ask for a projection - say your policy matured this year what would the actual sum be, and you understand this isn't a promise but just indicative of the kind of amount it might be.
I am not a financial advisor (but I wrote software for some once which is how I know the above).
