We sold pritchard for £12m. We have chosen to bank most of it which perhaps means if we sell Madders this summer for £20m we have a bit more of that available to spend. If we'd spent £1m of it on an experienced striker on loan now then all it would mean is there is a bit less left to spend in the summer and we'd have to live with that.

All routes have an element of risk.gamble about them. Banking on improvement next season with cheaper players is just as much of a risk.
