it is just putting a plaster on it. The model is not scalable and its weakness is that it relies entirely on massive government spending and is at the mercy of whoever is in power. What are a government's real drivers? Votes, which then become the only reason for paying any attention to it. I really don't see why we on the one hand complain about the NHS and at the same time won't look at how other countries have superseded our health care. I think it was Einstein who said that the definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
I'm not going to bother pointing out why the spend will naturally be higher if your population is contributing more in a country where private is the norm, not the luxury. I think that's simple arithmetic. It's also interesting to remember that the figures are SPENDING, not FUNDING.
