'Freezing him out' isn't remotely akin to constructive dismissal

because, as mr carra says above, we're not dismissing him. He can just stay and collect his wages.

There's nothing in a football contract that says you'll actually play - it just says you'll get paid, and fo as long as the contract lasts. Which he will, unless he chooses / agrees to leave.
