but if we stay in this division, it may not be too long before we have to spend a summer offloading the likes of Watkins and Hanley because of their relatively big wages.

I think there will always be a need to transition to a bigger or smaller budget in a transfer window, depending on what league we are in, especially given our ownership situation. I fear there may never be a good time to take the plunge and go all in to invest in youth. There will always be the temptation to keep the squad ticking over with journeymen, while it gradually gets worse.
