Several!...

As it turns out, the DVLA had somehow managed to put me down as living in another county, so the police couldn't issue the nip until they'd tracked me down (hence why it went way past the 14day notice thang). They also sent me photos of my car (which I'd requesed) to try & ascertain who was driving. You could clearly see my car & the number plate.. but anyone could have been driving!

I then sent another letter saying 'fair enough' to their reasons for not contacting me sooner.. but it still didn't help me recall who was driving that day as the photos were not conclusive. I also asked them to let me know what I should do next, as I would be lying if I named the driver when I honestly couldn't remember.

I received a letter last week saying that they have extended my required response time from 30th Jan to 9th Feb.. I have until this date to inform them of the driver, accept the conditional offer & pay the fine, or they will take me to court.

I'm not sure what to do now! Do I hold out? Can they win in court when it's clear the driver cannot be proved? Or do I just have to pay the tossers, get the points & accept it??.. :os
