Why would top players or top managers want to play there? The north-east always has that issue now; so does Yorkshire. By contrast, someone like Watford attracted their rich owners because of their location. English football tilts southwards now: more than it ever has actually.

Do we have a location problem too? Yes, undoubtedly - but not as much of one as Sunderland, a bigger club than us, do.
