things are v different across the 3 players mentioned (Oliveira, Canos and Pritchard), aren't they?

With Canos, I think you probably wouldn't have predicted how well the Murphlings would start the season? In the end if someone's doing the job, that's fine.

With Oliveira, it's really early days. Give it a few weeks and see how he does when he's actually ready.

Pritchard is the one I do wonder about a bit. I guess it's planning for a post-Wes future. And lots of people who've seen him more than I have wanted him. You can wonder though whether the money we spent on a Wes backup - and it was a lot of our money - was the best use of it, given other gaps in the squad? (And given we also got Maddison.) But one for the future I guess, and maybe it was too good a chance to turn down.
