That's not really true though is it

Fairly sure of yourself and Condescending but totally wrong.

The eu parliament is a talking shop with no serious powers at all. It can recommend laws to the ruling committee but cannot pass any or vote to change the committee.

The committee can pass anything they like.

This is a very similar arrangement to the one Charles first tried to impose on Parliament that led to our civil war. It was set up this way precisely to be anti democratic.

If the eu is so democratic then ask which of your representatives voted for the appalling treatment
of Greece (and btw anyone who knows what really went on there and thinks the eu is even slightly benign is truly nuts), when Angela merkel announced refugee quotas or the deal with turkey? Who voted for any of those things? It doesn't matter if you agree with the policies the point is how they are decided.

This is why no one bothers to votes for the European Parliament.

It is true that we don't technically lose the right to hold another referendum after today. However, in practice we almost certainly won't and in the meantime what's left of our parliamentary democracy will be eroded to the point where this no longer becomes an option.
