That appears to be where we ended up but my point is really that

we should not have ended up there and did not do so through bad luck but bad planning and not having the systems in place.

The notion that there are only 3 centre backs in world football who we could afford who are better than Bassong or Martin (as a CB) is frankly ridiculous.
