if players 1-3 on your list won't come

(or their clubs won't sell) and you don't think that players 4-8 on the list are much better than what you already have, what do you do?

Do you, CEO Jim, spend money that may only bring a marginal improvement (leaving you short of cash in Jan)
OR
see what happens and make a big push - if needed - in the second window?
