Young 'British' manager...

Anyway... Splitting hairs. Take Yiur point entirely that a sign of a good manager is the ability to turn things round. But I definitely would think the majority of objective, non-introspective assessment of him would call him one of the best young British managers, based on his achievements. So agree to disagree on that one...
