The word 'legend' is so overused and especially in this instance

Whilst I'm not underestimating the parlous state of our finances back in 2009, McNally should not come away with 90% of thre credit and Bowkett and Lambert 5% each.

And although I don't think anybody with half a brain could have been put in at that stage and done a similar job, we were in such a state of disarray that some of the decisions were essentially very simple to make.

He has been a very good CEO at times, but I would have more eagerness to consider his time at the club as 'legendary' if we'd established ourselves in the Premier league, which we haven't, put in place solid and experienced coaching and recruitment teams or perhaps if he'd left a lasting legacy at a half built Colney which has outdated facilities and isn't producing anything for the future.

That is not the stuff of legend.
