Thing is, there isn't a "good" side in Syria

Bashir al Assad is a c**t. No question.

Anyone local with the remotest possibility of beating Bashir al Assad politically or militarily is also a c**t.

And while they conduct Cuntbowl(tm), a lot of people are dying. Not remotely, not vicariously, but average people, in their own homes.

There isn't a "good" side to join. Chances are, there won't in due course be a great Hollywood movie encapsulating anything to so with the present Syrian situation, because the fact is that no-one with any kind of power or any shred of a hope of any power is anything other than a c**t.

Suppose you were a doctor, an engineer, any middle class person in that situation. Fuck knows what Jesus would do - me, I'd look after my kids first, me second, and if that means paying some ugly c**t to get us all out of there, well I'd be all for it.

Germany took a bold stance. I for one applaud them for it. I'd much rather be Germany, faced with difficult choices around how to make integration at scale work, than us or most of our EU counterparts. faced with coming to terms with looking the other way while one of the great preventable tragedies of our generation unfolded.
