The late promotion thing is b**locks. Its what 3 weeks plus you know there is a chance you

will get promoted.

The problem, as Neil has stated, is that we were completely unprepared and did not have any recruitment structure in place which presumably means other teams had a head start on us in terms of identifying/links into targets.

As for the rest whichever way you look at it we failed in the summer. We all know we needed quality in two key areas and we got neither. Once again we got strung along by various foreign players who probably had no intention whatsoever of signing for us and ended up putting in bids left, right and centre for strikers at the nth hour. The strategy was very obviously p**s poor.
