and my point, perhaps too subtle, is that the issue with our signings would seem to lie more in our scouting network than the manager.

I would be very surprised if AN has (last summer, or even at the moment) the amount of influence over our signings that would be suggested by calling them 'his' signings. He's a rookie manager in a new league. He will be more reliant than most on what our scouts produce and suggest.

Going forward I'd expect him to have more responsibility for who we sign as I'd be expecting him to have a better handle on what we need and perhaps even who we need (ie, go and get me 'this' player rather than 'see who is out there that can do X') but I'd say its unfair to pin much if any blame on him for who we signed over the summer.
