We have been pretty unlucky last two games, for example. In a parallel universe, we could have picked up 4 pts (or at least 2). And, yes, we have also shot ourselves repeatedly in the foot throughout the entire season. What can AN do about that? Other than overhaul the entire squad, which we surely couldn't have afforded and would have been very very risky anyway.

Add Jermaine Defoe or Robert Huth to our team, and I think we'd be mid table and safe. But there's massive competition for these players and we're a newly promoted yoyo team that wont attract them unless we stabilise. Fine margins.

Compare and contrast with the fag end of Hoots tenure, when performance after performance was dreadful. As long as performances and effort continue at present level.
