But wonder if any of the legal eagles on of off of here have a view on whether the Doug Richards case is relevant.

I was amazed last month when Doug Richards was acquitted, after he was busted for picking up 13 y/o and a 15 y/o through a website. But he walked free from court (no doubt aided by the best legal team money can buy). See here for a discussion of the law:

Any scope for Johnson to walk free here? Or is that all over following a guilty plea?
