Whilst I think football gets a lot wrong on this I prefer the fact we are purist

Even if it means we are perhaps not quite as good as we could be.

I love my cricket and also like my international rugby but I would definitely prefer it if all those representing England had some English heritage. In fairness, most of the southern hemisphere recruits do have some form of family connection but i really do not like the 3 year residence qualification business.

You are not English or British by virtue of having lived somewhere for 3 years.

Konta is not British as much as we might like to try and claim that she is now it looks like she may be vaguely decent.
