Why is football so purist about nationality?
Rugger, tennis, cricket - people swap nationalities all the time and get international caps for their new country and no-one bats an eyelid. Jo Konta represented Australia till 2012, now she's a "Brit"
But football - no way. Imagine what a team England could have if you were allowed to apply a 3 year residence rule like some sports. Why is it so purist?
