Basically we've appointed a fan on to the board haven't we?

Considering most of us, myself included, like to think we know what goes on and how the club should be run, and what Mcnally is doing wrong etc etc whats the problem?

We all put forward our opinions as containing more that a pinch of FACT when talking about the clubs workings/what the board should or MUST do.
If we can be that sure with little or no relevant experience then what does it matter?

"we don't make the decisions though" I know this, you'd be forgiven for thinking some posters do however based on the strength of their convictions on here. You can't make sure and certain demands of the club one minute then go "Don't listen to me i know nothing" then next.
If you can be sure in your mind where we are going wrong, then someone else with similar limited experience could be as well.

Its an unexpected and odd appointment from the outside if I'm honest, and does give the impression of 'jobs for the boys' and that was my first reaction.
I'm not sure at all its a good appointment, it is effectively a fan voice on the board, but then isn't that what DS and MWJ are?
On reflection I wonder if its sucession planning, perhaps they aim is to retain their 'fan viewpoint' after they step back from their roles and they have got Tim in to do that. The next few years is to give him the experience he needs perhaps?
