because we'll be able to attract better overseas players.

One of our main problems now isn't that we are losing out to other Prem clubs for overseas signings - it's that they are not interested in coming. If we could offer double the wages we currently do, then maybe players like Ranocchia and Biglia would be sufficiently tempted to come.

The top clubs in the league (and even teams like Southampton / Newcastle) are already able to attract decent players - so the extra money will enable us to draw somewhat level with them.
