even if we stay up your second scenario (skint/skipping in & out) seems likely

while we have a skint (by Prem standards) owner we will likely be among the strugglers most years. The TV money won't change that as everyone else will get it too, so teams with richer owners will still have an edge.

To be honest it is really a bit of an achievement our being here at all.
