The PL today vs the Lambert era.........

in the first season up there were a number of clubs at the bottom who were financially hard up or just didnt want to spend...........Now virtually every club in the PL is on a sound financial footing and is willing to spend.

The gulf between the PL and champs is as wide as its ever been.

Our strikers were top notch in the champs...... proabably not good enough for the PL......bottom six at best.

Teams like Watford understood the gulf and made wholesale changes even though they won auto promotion. TBF its worked for them.

Clearly the problem isnt the manager.
We just dont have a good enough squad at the moment.
The fact he tried to buy strikers and CB's means they know the weaknesses of the squad.

I dont hate the business we did in the summer transfer window.
Brady and Mulumbo were great buys and I think Mbokani and Jarvis were good loan signings.
Clearly we are buying/loaning players who improve the squad but we are playing catchup.

I just think its so tough with all the teams having money to spend.
Norwich is virtually the only club in the PL who doesnt have a rich backer......... As Wigan, Blackburn, Bolton and Ipswich have found out...... that doesn't always help either.........

If we get relegated I will be gutted but it wont be the end of the world as I have faith the club is well run financially.
Probably have to sell players like Brady but we have some fine young players like the Murphys and Loza coming through.

My gut feeling is we are still a coinflip to get relegated.
While certain players wont want to come here in Jan...... they also wont want to go to the clubs around us.
